Hello aliens and humans! :)
It's a new week and while last week ended on a sombre note for me, equally combined with great moments of fun and dancing, before I begin with this post I'd like to ask you to spare a thought for the devastated people of the Philippines. Super Typhoon Haiyan, the most powerful typhoon (cyclone, hurricane whatever you prefer to call it) in recorded history to touch land, struck the Philippines leaving more than 10,000 people dead. While reports vary on the actual death toll, there is no doubt that it left a terrible trail of destruction, loss and agony in the people's hearts and lives. I'm not here to make you feel guilty about how smoothly your life is going compared to theirs (I mean, I have no idea what any of you are going through and it could be much worse), I'm just asking you to spare a thought for these people. BUT, if you are moved enough, here's the link to where you can donate to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan:

So, where do I begin? Well, I signed up for NaNoWriMo last week thinking I could come up with a 50,000 word story in under 3 weeks and right now I've accomplished an impressive 3 lines. That's less than 50 words. Something tells me I won't make it, especially as I have to come up with a completely separate and original plot line for my creative writing class by next Saturday. I am so not going to make it! I have ideas bouncing about in my head for both NaNoWriMo and homework Saturday but sadly, I can't seem to provide them with a basic skeleton. In fact, I feel like I'm all written out of creativity and inspiration at the moment. Urgh - I'm sure some of you know how frustrating that is. :(
Anyway, as part of my weekend distraction away from writing, I happily headed to my favourite streaming site where I commenced to watch Season 7 of The Big Bang Theory, beginning from episode 1. I was hoping to hold out until the entire season finished so that I could watch all the episodes from beginning to end but, I was weak! I gave in to the dark force! By the way, Season 7 absolutely rocks. I've never laughed so much in one sitting! The writers have really outdone themselves this time, kudos to them. Episode 6 in particular was brilliant and actually brought a tear to my eye. Now, I'm not an overly emotional person and tend to keep all feelings that display vulnerability locked inside of me but when Howard Wolowitz sang his song to Bernadette, I couldn't help smiling, laughing and going 'awwww' at the same time. As funny as it was, it was also so sweet and touching. I loved it! As you can see, I posted the YouTube clip of the song above. With all the feel good emotions it evokes, I hope it provides you with a great start to your Monday.
And in other parts of the world, BIL is no longer cavorting the Solomons and is instead, reflecting on the omnipresent 'roo' poo that carpets the land down under. 'Roo' by the way, is short for kangaroo. As BIL informs me, mobs of roos can be found under nearly every single tree around the area, with just as many dead ones by the road side. With so many of them, residents have not had to mow their lawn for weeks. Have a look see below!
